A century-long history

THE ORIGINS

The ancient Alighiero Campostrini soap factory has over a century of history, synonymous with high quality and great artisan tradition. In 1894 the first small production business producing very fine cut soaps for families was opened.

THE FIRST PLANT

The first factory for the production of molded soaps, is inaugurated with 60 workers and the production of 80 quintals per day. In the same year the first logo was registered and the first catalogue were created for its demanding and refined clientele.

THE SECOND POST-WAR

After the war the family aimed to enhance the image of the brand and the products by investing both in production technology and in the packaging of the soaps which began to take on an increasingly gift-like dimension, for the first time sold in packages with graphics distinctive.

THE ECONOMIC BOOM

In ten years the turnover increased significantly and the reference area was no longer Tuscany, but extended to a national and European level, also obtaining the Royal House Patent as the official supplier of the English Royal House.

ALIGHIERO CAMPOSTRINI AND SAPONERIE MARIO FISSI

After many generations, the Campostrini family significantly reduced its production and commercial activities before the new millennium. The last patriarch of the family, who was left alone to manage the company, was considering closing it down.

And so, by chance, for a small supply of base pasta, the two companies came into contact, and the Campostrini activity destined for closure took on new life thanks to the commitment that Fissi put into recovering and reconstructing the history and origins of the Campostrini brand.

From 2006 to the present day

Two specialized Tuscan companies in the production of soaps and related products merged in a project to recover the historical and cultural heritage of soap making. The most artisanal area of Fissi Soapworks worked side by side with the Campostrini family, reconstructing the origins, formulations, and packaging that had made the Campostrini brand a Tuscan excellence in its time, transforming it today into an Italian excellence recognized at an international level.
